Conservative MP candidate Tom Hunt calls on Labour MP for Ipswich to up his game when it comes to campaign for northern bypass
Tom Hunt statement regarding consultation for the proposed Northern bypass: “I’m glad that plans for a northern bypass are progressing through the various stages and that local people are going to be able to have their say through the consultation process.
Campaign for northern bypass must continue
I read with interest Paul Geater’s column in last Thursday’s Ipswich Star, “County needs a change of heart on major road projects” which calls for Suffolk County Council to drop its attempts to secure Government backing for a northern bypass. I disagree with this view.

Northern Route
The overwhelming transport infrastructure priority for Ipswich is a northern relief road. Over the past month it’s been made clear to me whoever I’ve spoken to just how important this is for the Town. The reality is that this infrastructure should have been delivered 20/30 years ago but it hasn’t and the people of Ipswich have paid the price for this through increasing levels of traffic.
