College Street delays
By the time this work has been completed it will have been 6 months. As opposed to the 3 months originally stated by Labour led Ipswich Borough Council.
I’m glad that the former merchant’s house is being brough back into use after being allowed to fall into a state of disrepair over decades. However, am I truly convinced that no stone has been left unturned when it comes to looking to keep the disruption caused to my constituents down to an absolute minimum? No.
The extent of the disruption over such an extended period of time has become unacceptable. In addition to the huge disruption being caused and the economic impact I’m also concerned about the consequences for air quality as we know that slow moving and stationary vehicles are even worse for this.
Another question that has been in my head is couldn’t this work have been carried out at a time during the pandemic when there were very few cars on the road? To minimise disruption?
