I was very happy to have been invited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence on a zoom event last night and to speak to the guests about the Bangladeshi community in Ipswich.
The Prime Minister spoke at the event along with a number of Ministers and the High Commissioner. I was keen to raise the brilliant contributions made by the Bangladeshi community in our town.
I am proud to be an ambassador for BSC Multicultural Services (BSCMS), previously known as the Bangladeshi Support Centre, which is a multi-award-winning charity in Ipswich which has been supporting my constituents for more than 20 years. I am also Vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Bangladesh so it was great to celebrate with members of the community from across the country as well.
