Tom is a keen supporter of increasing apprenticeship and technical education opportunities, more support for those those with special educational needs and learning disabilities as well as fairer funding for Suffolk schools.
Tom says: “When I was at school I had special educational needs and this is something very close to my heart. We need to ensure that schools have the funding and freedoms they need to enable those with special educational needs to flourish. I believe there should be parity of esteem between the academic route and the technical route and I believe that our FE colleges and local University have a key role to play in ensuring our young people can benefit from future job opportunities in the local economy. I strongly support the commitment the Prime Minister has made to level up schools funding. There is no reason at all why a pupil at a school in Ipswich should have any less funding per head than a pupil in London. This needs to be tackled and the Prime Minister has pledged to do so.”
