The Ipswich Constituency Labour Party, headed up by their MP, has again shown their true colours in its party conference motion. Ipswich voted to leave the EU over 3 years ago by a large majority of 58%, but here goes Ipswich Labour, trying to stoke up division and more anger.Read More
On Monday I met with Boris in London to discuss my campaign in Ipswich (note the matching ties). I again highlighted the importance of the Ipswich northern bypass and the need for Ipswich to be near the front of the queue when it comes to the increased investment into our police forces and the 20,000…Read More
Conservative MP candidate for Ipswich, Tom Hunt says:
“I’m delighted that Ipswich is one of the places that will benefit from the new Towns Fund. When talking to local residents I lose count of the number of times the state of our Town Centre has come up in conversation. If spent in the right way the £25 million provided by the Government could give Ipswich Town centre a massive boost. I encourage Ipswich Borough Council to engage fully with every section of our community when deciding how to invest this money.
“A few months ago I spoke with Jake Berry MP the Minister responsible for the fund and the difference a contribution could make to Ipswich. I’m very glad that the Government have listened.”

“Very disappointed that last night 328 MPs decided to vote against the Prime Minister and destroy our country’s negotiating position with the EU. There is nothing at all that will be achieved by further dithering and delay.
“It’s vital we leave the EU on 31st October come what may and I believe that taking no deal of the table is complete folly. The Labour Party have abandoned the 5 million Labour voters who voted leave in 2016 and the Labour MP for Ipswich has abandoned the 38,000 people who voted leave in the Borough of Ipswich by repeatably voting against Brexit and not honoring the referendum result.
“Collectively I believe that this Parliament has failed the people of this country particularly the 17.4 million people who voted to leave the EU over three years ago. In the circumstances, reluctantly, I now believe that a General Election is needed. I fully support Boris and stand ready to throw everything I can into the campaign to ensure better representation for our Town in Parliament.”
Since I was selected last autumn I have made tackling crime and anti-social a key priority of mine, says Tom Hunt. I have met with the Chief Constable, the Police and Crime Commissioner as well as a number of community groups across the Town.Read More

I’m glad that Boris Johnson has won the Conservative Party leadership election. I made clear my support for Boris when he first threw his hat into the ring to become the next leader and I’m confident that he can deliver Brexit and defeat Jeremy Corbyn at the next General election, whenever it is.
Boris had a strong record as Mayor of London and I’m in strong agreement with his approach to Brexit, tackling knife crime and the importance of significant infrastructure projects.
We need to leave the EU by the end of October no ifs or buts.
It’s important that the Conservative Party now unites and focuses all its energy on delivering Brexit and defeating the most left wing and dangerous Labour leader this country has ever had.
Jeremy Hunt is an extremely honourable man who has fought a commendable campaign and I’m sure he has a key role to play within the Conservative Party over the coming months.
